A great day out for all the family The Vale of Lune point to point first took place at Whittington in 1936. The setting for the course is idyllic in the heart of the Lune valley. The course side car park is ideal for picnicking providing an excellent place to while away the afternoon with family and friends."An awesome course in an unrivalled setting". (Horse and Hound)
Racing 2012 Vale of Lune point to point 2pm Easter Saturday 7th of April The first of seven races will start at 2 pm. Pony racing at 1pm See course info>> for going report.
News D avis and Bowring have kindly agreed to act as event sponsor again this year.
Course Update The strip of land which had been sprayed ready for seeding last year is now beautifuly green with a good thick cover. Fences 1 and 2 have been moved back with the start now closer to the open ditch so that all fences are situated on old, thick turf. The extra few yards this adds will be compensated for by moving in of some course markers. We have had good rainfall through Feb and March, and with the milder weather grass is now growing well and should provide an excellent surface. As always, fences are prepared to the highest standard, and everything necessary will be done to provide optimum going.
T he Vale of Lune Point to Point will be offering a £10 refund of the entry fee to all owners that run their horses on Easter Saturday as a thank you for supporting the event.
