The Vale of Lune Point to Point has been held at Whittington since 1936. The event has been the highlight of the rural calendar and is very well supported by local people.
The horses jump 18 steeple chase style fences in the during the 3mile 2 furlong races. A large hill forms a natural amphitheatre which allows viewing of the entire course.
The course side car park is ideal for picnicking providing a excellent place to while away the afternoon with family and friends.
The first of six races will start at 2 pm. It is advisable to arrive early to avoid congestion. There will also be a parade of the Vale of Lune hounds after the third race.
Due to the success of pony racing in the 2009 meeting this will become a permanent feature on the race card. These races will take place at 1 o'clock preceding our normal racing line up which will commence at 2 as usual.
This year all owners running their horses on Easter Saturday the 3rd of April will recive a £10 refund of the entry fee.
